There are many reasons why we resist the opportunity for something new in our lives.

Almost everything you buy in this day and age has low fat written on it. As the only society in the history of humanity to actively go low fat, it is no surprise to see we are the fattest. With no correlation between fat consumption (we are not eating more today than the past) and obesity you do wonder how much longer people are going to keep sounding this low-fat horn. By not eating fat within your meals you will invariably not hit your ideal fuel mix and this will mean you are hungry or have food cravings. At this point you are much more likely to eat high sugar or sensitive foods, e.g. chocolate, breads, biscuits etc. Low fat meals also mean you do not consume enough of the fat soluble vitamins. This reduces overall efficiency which will affect body fat.

The fact is that it is not the calorie or the formula or the ratio that determines your success. It is you. Whether you are on a high protein, low fat, no-sugar, or other program, your success will be determined by the level of your belief. I have witnessed people achieve success using many different nutrition styles, and the common element that linked their success was belief. If you asked them, "Will you lose your weight," they would reply, "Absolutely." If you cannot state that without confidence, it is time to find something you can believe in ... and more often than not, it will not be a new program, but you. Believe in you.

Crafting. Though creating a craft or art project will not necessarily work you into shape, a creative, crafty spring project is a fun way to work out a positive mindset and to generate an overall feeling of healthy wellness. Building a birdhouse, painting a picture for your guestroom and setting out a porch swing are all fun, do-it-yourself projects that will simply beautify your healthy life! Fun, creative projects like these connect relaxing spring activities to a sense of productivity, rewarding you with the feeling of accomplishment and improving your mental health.
